Today marks a milestone day for me as an author—and for my YA psychological thriller, Fan Service. After months of late nights, revisions, and fine-tuning every last detail, the manuscript has officially been submitted for proposal to its first publishing company.

If you’ve just joined me here, welcome. You’re stepping in at the perfect time. Fan Service began as a short story and evolved into a full-length novel that explores the dark side of K-pop fandom, identity, and obsession. Told through the alternating perspectives of Sena, a former idol trainee, and Jisoo, a rising K-pop star, it’s a story about the blurred line between adoration and danger.

Submitting the manuscript proposal means the book is now in a publisher’s hands for consideration—the first step toward finding it a home on shelves. While this is just the beginning of the publishing journey, it’s a huge leap from the quiet work of drafting and editing behind the scenes.

For those unfamiliar, a proposal submission is more than just sending the manuscript. It includes a carefully crafted pitch package—synopsis, target market analysis, comparable titles, and sometimes sample chapters—all designed to show why the book will resonate with readers and stand out in the market.

Hitting “send” on that package feels a bit like sending your child out into the world: thrilling, nerve-wracking, and impossible to take back.

Now comes the waiting. Publishing timelines can move slowly, but each step forward is worth celebrating. In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about Fan Service’s development, inspirations, and cultural details woven into the story—plus any updates on the proposal process as they happen.

Fan Service’s journey is just beginning here on the site and this milestone is the perfect place to start. From submission to publication (and everything in between), I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes details, and sneak peeks right here.

If you’re curious to see how a book makes its way from draft to shelf, stick around. This is where it all starts.
